Chapter 13 – Arden

So maybe testing Mike’s jealousy had been a dirty move, but all was fair in love and war. Arden had been drinking to celebrate his triumph, and might have had one—or three—shots too many, but he felt too safe to care. Not only in the clubhouse, surrounded by people he knew, but with Mike watching his every step. They had become inseparable, and Mike even followed him into the bar’s restrooms where they joked about dick sizes while pissing.

They rather liked each other’s dick sizes. And Mike got excited about Arden lifting his skirt to urinate.

Mike clearly wasn’t in it just for the sex, because he could have had that anywhere, yet he deserted the pretty stripper the moment someone told him his neglected kitten crawled into another man’s lap.

He didn’t know whether Mike’s unwillingness to start a relationship was habitual and he didn’t want to give up on the option of sleeping with other people, or if it was an element of his identity, but he wasn’t disdainful over others forming couples. There was something to work on there.

Only that Arden shouldn’t attempt it. The booze in his veins suggested all the things he could do with Mike, how Mike just needed a nudge, but he found it hard to decide whether those thoughts were produced by reason or Arden’s misguided lust. Mike was sex on a stick, and Arden was dying to lick him.

When the evening got colder, and the party moved inside, the atmosphere between them became denser with unspoken desire. It didn’t help that the clubhouse was a pit of bikers with loose morals, so by the middle of the night the air smelled of booze, cigarettes, and sex. The loud rock music was doing its job of masking the moans of a couple fucking against the pool table, but they were undeniably there, reminding Arden how good wild, careless sex could be. How he used to enjoy losing inhibitions and going with the flow.

The music grew heated, and Arden rolled his head over his shoulders, jumping while other people’s sweat clung to him in the tight clump of bodies. He recognized Mike’s hand when it touched the small of his back, but he would not give in so easily and swatted it away, grabbing the pole to crawl onto the empty stage.

He was far from a pole-dancing master, but his sister was a stripper, and he’d picked up a trick or two. Right now, he did wish he had the death trap heels on, just to excite Mike more, even if wearing them might cost him broken bones. Mike would take care of him if something happened.

“Mike! Watch me!” he yelled over the music with a grin.

Tonight, he’d allow himself to live in the dreamland where Mike was his boyfriend for real, and where neither of them had a care in the world. Arden slid down the pole, giving Mike a not-so-sneaky peek under his skirt, then got right back up, arching his chest and ignoring the rhythm as he danced on.
